The girls from Sheppard have always 'dressed to impress'. Amy & Emma rock some quirky looks and still manage to remain super stylish. Aside from the girls being fashionistas themselves, their stylist Lisa Rutter has a big part to play in keeping them looking super stylish.
Here is a sneak peak from Lisa herself about working with the Sheppard girls and all things fashion!
Here is what she had to say...
It is probably no surprise to you all, that Amy and Emma have their own unique style... But Lucky for me, the girls love clothes and Accesories just as much as I do!
From the very beginning, the girls outlined specific requirements when dressing them. And I have always kept these key fundamentals in mind when sourcing for them. I will always present all the options before the final outfit is chosen and In some cases there are multiples chosen!
TV appearances such as Ellen, Today Show and Jimmy Fallon I have a more tailored looks for the girls, yet ensured loud patterns, varied textures and bold colours are combined to create points of interest and always staying true to their fun personalities.
For key performances you will most likely see the girls in a casual comfortable chic look which allows them to still move around the stage and engage with the crowd yet still look well put together and always fashionable.
While I would say Both girls are open to trying out new looks, they are also both very specific about what threads they are seen in. At the end of the day, the whole group value my opinion which makes my job easier as a stylist. And while I do love to mix up their looks, I will always keep their overall image true to their own individual style and aesthetic, especially so for Amy and Emma.
There are times when I will only source Accesories and other times I will purely do clothing and this is mainly due to the excessive amount of clothing and Accesories both girls have consumed over time but also their knack of easily putting together unlikely pieces and make them rock.
Being an Australian stylist, and representing a local band, we acknowledge it is important that we support and purchase locally! I love nothing more than seeing the girls rocking head to toe looks that have been made right here in Australia from little known and up and coming designers. It's like taking a piece of home around the world while touring!
Hit me up at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are a designer or represent local designers. I am always on the hunt for new and upcoming designers that bring to the table an edgy point of difference. The girls love to play with different textures such as feathers with leatherette. Or Pom poms, netting with sequins.
