When you think Italy, Gelato is probably one of many things to come to mind and for good reason too! We can tell you first hand that there are lots of lovely Gelateria's scattered around the beautiful city of Rome.
On our recent travels to Rome, Gelato was a dietary staple. With so many flavours to choose from, it is impossible to satisfy your craving in one visit! Whilst in Rome we stayed in an apartment about 2 minutes walk to the iconic Fontana de Trevi (otherwise known as the Trevi Fountain). If you have visited this part of Rome before, you would have seen that there are a few Gelateria's in the area.
Our favourite was Gelateria Valentino, a family run Gelaterio, where we were greeted by the jovial Signor Valentino himself. Over the course of 3 days we tasted, Cream (vanilla), Strawberry, Limone (lemon), Mint (Menta) and Pistachio. The ice cream was great and the service even better! Signor Valentino insists on getting to know his customers and one experiences true Italian hospitality!
If you are heading over to Rome, be sure to give it a try!
